The Duckworth Lewis Method rocks!

Princes and lawyers played with the English elite
Years of repression started a noise from the streets

CHORUS:
The age of revolution, the age of revolution
from Bangalore to Kingston, the age of revolution
Go and get your pads on, take your place in the sun
from Bangalore to Kingston, the age of revolution
It's the age of revolution... It's the age of revolution

Mankad in Madras, but suddenly Sunil is king.
Kids in the valleys, bats bound together with string, oh yeah!

"Time to take the new ball, the dollars and the rubles.
Stormont to the Oval, we're all going global."

CHORUS
It's the age of revolution... It's the age of revolution
It's the age of revolution... It's the age of revolution

Here's to the future, Punjab and Tamil Nadu.
Always remember the passion of '32, oh yeah, yeah!

"Always denied entry by the English gentry.
Now we're driving Bentley's playing 20/20"

CHORUS 2x

And finally… most epic of all

Let’s continue the tearfest with our favourite children's book - Robert Munsch’s ‘Love You Forever’.

Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.

And if you were able to sit dry eyed through that (you heartless bastard)… this should get you bawwwing.

Ignis

After trolling Connaught Place for two hours trying to find Dv8 (apparently a great pub), we finally settled for Ignis bar and restaurant, mostly because we could see some muted orange ufo-esque lights shining through its huge windows. I had my misgivings, as  I didn't find much information while googling it on my iPhone, and they were justified when we walked in, as only one other table was occupied.

However, the ambiance was pretty decent. Besides the afore mentioned UFO lights, there was a wall of flickering lamps, and best of all, a panoramic view of CP and it's park (was not too hard to get a window seat considering it was empty). Nevertheless, I nearly got out and left, as after I was seated the waiter whispered in my ear, 'No hot drinks, sir. We haven't got our liquor license!'.  However, we were tired, and the seats were comfortable, so we shrugged and said what the hell.

From outside, you would be forgiven for thinking Ignis would serve european cusine, but make no mistake, Ignis is a hard core Indian restaurant.  They may have tried to diversify the menu a bit, (and you'll find a bruchetta platter and bacon stuffed chicken breast in there), but most of the menu is taken up by a variety of Indian food. And the food is quite good!

The first thing that struck us were the portions - which were quite small. But the food was tasty, and quite unique. The Chettinad mutton pepper fry was extremely spicy and succulent, while the marthaba ka meat was tangy and tasty. However, the onion and garlic pilaf and the chilli parathas left much to be desired. I finally wound up with a Kulfi which tasted like frozen milkmaid condensed milk; but's that was not a problem, coz I freakin' love milkmaid.

So, in conclusion, stay away from Ignis, unless you love UFOs. Or freakin' milkmaid.

The Rooftops of Norwich

I got the scars to remind me

Of watching the clocks go round
I've walked myself through somedays
That have put me where I am

DSC_0021

 DSC_0023

In another time, In another place
All things might have been in place
But for now, I'm finding myself
Out here standing on a rooftop screaming

DSC_0024

Hey world, are you listening?
Listening to me?
I'm here and I'm hurting
To begin again

DSC_0029

It's another time, it's another place
We are making moral pace
But for now I'm finding myself
Out here standing on my doorstep screaming

DSC_0030 DSC_0031 DSC_0034

Hey world, are you listening?
Listening to me?
I'm here and I'm hurting
To begin again

DSC_0036

Hey world, I'm ready to listen
And learn something new
I'm here and I'm willing
To get myself though
